Built from a problem at home.
Monolith started with a long driveway, a hard-to-see address, and one simple frustration: people kept driving past.
It started at Tom’s own home.
After nearly a decade working in manufacturing, Tom had spent years designing, building, and improving products for other people.
But at home, one small problem kept coming up.
His driveway sat back from the road, the address was difficult to see, and guests, delivery drivers, and service vehicles regularly missed the entrance.
He looked for a better address sign, but everything he found felt like a compromise. It was either easy to see and unattractive, or well designed and nearly impossible to notice from the road.
So he decided to build his own.
The first Monolith was built for one driveway.
The goal was simple: create an address pillar that looked like it belonged with the home, while making the entrance unmistakable from the road.
It needed to feel architectural, not decorative.
It needed to hold up through Buffalo winters.
And it needed to be visible in daylight, at dusk, and after dark without requiring electrical work.
What began as a solution for Tom’s own property quickly became something neighbors, visitors, and other homeowners kept asking about.
That original idea became Monolith.

Manufacturing experience shaped every detail.
Tom’s background in manufacturing influenced the product from the beginning.
Every proportion, material, cut, fastener, and assembly step was considered with the same mindset used on the shop floor: make it precise, make it repeatable, and make it last.
Today, every Monolith is designed, CNC machined, hand assembled, and individually inspected by our team in Buffalo, New York.
We build each pillar one at a time because every address and every property is different.
The material mattered.
Steel could rust. Wood could move, crack, and require maintenance. Plastic never delivered the finish we wanted.
Premium aluminum composite gave us the balance we were looking for: rigid construction, a refined matte-black architectural surface, resistance to rust, and long-term outdoor durability.
Behind every number is a UV-resistant white acrylic backer that remains visible during the day and allows the optional solar light to illuminate the address at night.
Nothing was selected because it was the easiest option.
It was selected because it was the right one.
